School Notices 5-13 December

Last day of School

Our last day of school is fast approaching. Here is a run down of what is planned: 

School farewell 9-9.30am. This will include:

  • Presenting the Amesbury Awesomeness awards for all three teams
  • Farewelling our Yr 6 leavers
  • Farewelling any other students and staff who will not be returning in 2019
  • A final farewell from Lesley for the year to all students and staff and whanau

10am - 12.30pm Whole school water play / sausage sizzle / picnic

Please plan to join us on our fun last day!

Year 6's - Big Day Out 

The Year 6's will be taking their annual trip into the city on Tuesday 11th December. An email with all the information has been sent out please ensure that you read it carefully as it includes the timetable for the day. Students need to be at school by 7.45am that day.

Parents must sign a permission slip from capital E which is located here please return this to Demelza or Chrissy by Friday 7th December at the latest. 

The cost of the bus and the capital E session will be covered by school however please ensure that your child has money for lunch and brings snacks and a drink bottle.

Students are expected to be in full school uniform, wearing fleeces and hats along with sensible shoes as their will be some walking.If you have any questions or concerns please see Demelza or Chrissy in Harakeke hub. It should be a fun filled day which the students will enjoy!

Sunhats - please check! 

We have a number of un-named and missing hats. Please make sure you name your child's sunhat clearly and please check the sunhat you have at home is the one that you should have!

Scooter program

Students will be taking part in the Wellington City Council/Micro Scooters Scooter Safety Program on Tuesday 4th and Thursday 6th December. We will be having a wheels fun day on Friday 7th December.

On these days please ensure your child is wearing closed-toe shoes, and preferably long sleeve tops and pants. If they have a scooter in good-working order and helmet that fits properly, they are asked to bring these along. We have a limited number of scooters and helmets provided for students to use.

All students are welcome to join in; if your child has special mobility requirements or other needs, please discuss this with us ASAP so we can plan to include them in a safe and fun way.

Thanks: The Johnsonville Christmas Parade committee, would like to personally thank our children for participating in the Johnsonville Christmas Parade this year. They had a record 50+ entrants this year with lots of new participants which created a more vibrant, colourful and creative event. Please pass on our thanks on to your children for making this event so successful.  

Drama Holiday Programme – Twas the Night before Christmas

A five day (17th to 21st Dec) collaborative holiday programme on Drama, Music, Dance, Creative Writing and Craft will be conducted by Drama Remedy from 9.00 am – 4.00 pm just before the festive season begins.
