Year 3 and 4 Camp Term 4 2017

By: Chris Waugh | Posted Tuesday November 21, 2017

Date

Thursday 30th of November and Friday the 1st of December.

Overview

We will be leaving school at 9.30 on the Thursday and traveling to Palm Grove camp site on the Kapiti Coast. Students need to be at school before 9 am (from 8.30), leaving their large bags outside the hall and taking their day packs into Harakeke Hub. Students do not need to be in school uniform.

Any medication needs to be handed directly to Mike on the morning of the camp in clearly named bag or container. Please include any instructions for administering medication in the bag. The morning of camp tends to be very busy and it can be hard to have in depth conversations ‘on the run’. As such, emailing any important information about your child prior to the morning of camp would be very useful.

While at the campsite we will be staying in cabins. The students will be in separate cabins to the adults, but the adults will be staying near by.
During the first day we will be running 4 rotations: swimming, water slide, orienteering and confidence course.

After breakfast and tidying up our cabins on day 2 we will be heading just down the road to Nga Manu Reserve where the students will be in groups exploring the habitats and ecosystems that are there. We will be leaving the reserve at 2 pm, due to be back at school by 3pm.
