Hello from the School Library and Our New School Library Assistant!

By: Library Amesbury | Posted Wednesday March 8, 2017

It's great to be the new Amesbury School Library Assistant.  My name is Rachel Lord and it is great to have met so many of you already.  Before here, I was working in the Childrens and Teens Team at Tasman Public Library in Nelson and prior to that I was the school librarian at an international school in Germany and working with ESOL in Switzerland.  I love the way children love books and reading so much and everything that encourages that is so helpful for their fun and learning.

It helps that there are so many great books in our school library - pop in any time to see what we have here... and if you want a recommendation I am here every day between 9am and 3pm. The library is also open before school and after school as well and books can be returned to the returns box in the library at any time.

Thanks very much to the school librarians who are doing a fantastic job.  They come in every day and help out so much.  They are awesome too!  And also to our parent help MiKell whose help is much appreciated.

We are looking forward to having some fun book events this year and we are excited about some new library initiatives in the pipeline which we hope to have up and running throughout the year.  Do look out for the Scholastic Book Club brochure, coming home soon!

Happy Reading

Rachel Lord
