Kia ora Amesbury whānau

I have been associated with Amesbury from the turning of the first sod of dirt in 2011 and have seen it develop into the caring and vibrant community it is now. As a result I never hesitated to apply for and was lucky enough to be appointed to the position which involved enrolments, communications, co-curricular lessons, and anything else that I could assist with.

Having been born in the UK - you will frequently see me wearing the shirts from my hometown club, Plymouth Argyle - we emigrated to New Zealand when I was young. I attended primary school in the small North Island town of Taumarunui, went to college in New Plymouth, and then headed to the big smoke of Wellington where I undertook my law degree, met and married my wife of over 40 years, Lesley, and had our first child Demelza. We went on to have seven more children and currently have (only) 8 grandchildren.

We moved to Churton Park in 2011 and really enjoyed our time there. However, with our family all grown up and left home, Lesley & I decided that we would move up to the Kapiti Coast where we plan to stay. It’s a wonderful spot for our regular e-bike rides and walks.

Apart from being a passionate fan of Plymouth Argyle, I enjoy most sports. For a number of years I coached running and refereed football but I am more of a spectator these days. My sports participation has now been replaced by our vege garden. One of my favourite pastimes is eating all of the wonderful culinary delights Lesley produces.
