Vanessa Shilston

Kia ora! I am Vanessa, from Whangarei. I studied here in Wellington at Victoria University before heading to AUT to complete a Masters in Teaching and Learning. I began my teaching journey in South Auckland, teaching a range of subjects and ages, including performing arts and languages, new entrants to year 8. I recently moved back to Wellington with my husband and am enjoying teaching in Te Rito hub as well as other areas of Amesbury School. 

I love the outdoors and creating. When I am not teaching I can usually be found drawing, painting, or exploring the great outdoors. I also love cooking, gardening and weaving. I speak some te reo Maori and Mandarin Chinese.
