Kalesha Segatta - Teacher, Pōhutukawa Hub (Hub Leader)
Kia ora,
Ko Kalesha tōku ingoa. I am the team leader in Pōhutukawa Hub.
I started teaching at Amesbury in 2017 after studying a conjoint Bachelor of Arts and Teaching at Victoria University. I have a major in Sociology and English Literature and am qualified in both primary and secondary education. Prior to working at Amesbury, I spent some time relieving at Newlands College.
I grew up in Hounslow in south-west London, living there with my whānau until I moved to New Zealand at the age of 18. Whilst I love my home in London and the people that I have left there, moving to New Zealand was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I love living in Wellington and enjoying the beautiful bush walks that are on offer in my spare time. I also enjoy reading and spending time in our garden in Tawa.
I am a strong believer in the concept of Akō - the idea that everyone both teaches and learns and I love teaching and learning from our ākonga each and every day. I find great joy in watching our ākonga grow and change as the years progress.
