Gemma Williamson - Teacher, Te Rito Hub

I joined the Amesbury team at the beginning of 2016 and I work in Te Rito Hub. I feel very privileged to be a part of the Amesbury learning community, building relationships with tamariki, whānau, and my colleagues to support learners to continually fulfil their potential and to develop a lifelong love of learning.

Originally from Blenheim, I have made the northern suburbs of Wellington my home. Before fulfilling my dream of becoming a teacher, I worked in office management and finance roles in the non-profit sector. I also have a background and qualification in second language teaching and learning. Among many other places, my travels have taken me to France where I taught English as a Second Language for several years.  

When I am not teaching you might find me immersed in a good book, attempting to grow vegetables and fruit in my garden, cooking something delicious, keeping active, or planning adventures to different parts of the world.
