I was lucky enough to start working at Amesbury School two terms prior to its opening in February 2012. Continuing on from our foundation year I am one of two Associate Principals, team leader of Te Rito Team and a teacher.
Literacy, particularly Reading, is my passion and where I most enjoy accelerating progress in students and working with teachers to deliver effective literacy programmes. I oversee transition to school in our junior hub, SENCO, ESOL, Asia Aware, Library and have shared responsibility for Literacy.
Prior to Amesbury School I worked at Bellevue School in Newlands as Assistant Principal, and began my teaching career in Oamaru, North Otago.
After my move up to the North Island 13 years ago, I now call Wellington home. When I’m not at school you will find me exploring the outdoors. My playground tends to be the many hills, parks and rivers on my backdoor step. My keen sense of travel and adventure often take me to foreign places, as well as back to my roots on the southern mainland and unexplored northern hideaways.
