My name is David Robiony-Rogers. I am married to Mary Jane and have two boys; James, formerly an Amesbury School foundation pupil (now year 8 at Raroa) and George who is a current year 2 pupil at Amesbury.
As a foundation family we placed our faith in the philosophy and practice employed by the staff and Boards of the school. Since 2012 I have been involved in many school activities supporting the children and staff to provide education in a modern and fully integrated manner.
My professional background is in healthcare. I am a clinical physiologist and currently the service leader of the respiratory medicine service at Capital & Coast DHB. I bring experiences from working and living in various countries around the world. Academically I have a MBA, DPH and a post graduate qualification in Adult and Further Education along with my other professional qualifications and memberships. I am also a registered Master Practitioner of Neurolinguistic Programming.
I have been a member of several professional boards, and Chair of the Board of Directors of my professional society (Australia and New Zealand Society of Respiratory Science) for 2 years. I am currently a board member of the Registration Board for Clinical Physiologists in New Zealand. I am actively involved as a work delegate in one of New Zealand's largest unions.
I bring to the Board of Trustees my governance experience from being a member of New Zealand and Australian Boards; an understanding of financial issues and negotiation skills; a desire to be part of the development of the school for our future generations and community; a voice that will challenge everyone to think beyond the easy solutions and, enthusiasm for quality and innovation to support the student learning and role of the teaching staff.
From a personal perspective I look forward to also learning new skills through working with the other Trustees and school representatives.Email: [email protected]
