Newlands Intermediate Visit for Year 6 Students - Friday 11th November

Students who are currently enrolled at Newlands Intermediate for 2023 are going to be heading to the school for a visit on Friday 11th November.

We will be leaving school at 8:45am, so we are asking you to ensure that your children are at school by 8:30am. We will be returning to Amesbury between 12:30-12:45, so please feel free to place lunch orders as usual for this day.

This visit is a chance for these students to take a look around the school, sample some of the things on offer and meet some of their future teachers and peers. If you are unsure if your child will be attending this trip, please feel free to contact kalesha@amesbury.school.nz to confirm.

Poetry Writing Competition

Entries for the Inaugural Churton Park Poetry Writing Competition have now closed.

The winners will be announced at an event at the Churton Park Community Centre (Kea Hall) this Friday 11th November from 5:45 - 6:45pm.

Thanks to the generosity of the Churton Park Community Association, we now have a $20 Whitcoulls voucher to go along with each 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in our three categories: year 1 and 2 tamariki, year 3 and 4 tamariki, and year 5 and 6 tamariki.

Parent Support Request - Camp Fundraiser - Saturday 12 November

On Saturday 12th November we will be hosting a sausage sizzle at Amesbury School as a part of the annual Churton Park Craft Market. The money that we raise will go towards subsidising costs for our Year 5 and 6 camp this year.

The event will run from 2:00pm - 5:00pm. We will need parents to help us:

  • Set up for the event from 1:30-2:00pm
  • Support us with the sausage sizzle from 2:00-5:00pm
  • Pack down following the event from 5:00-5:30pm

If you are able to help, please specify the time and duration that you will be available so that we can ensure we have enough support throughout the event. If you are not able to support us with the event, feel free to come and show your support by buying a sausage or 3!

Wellington Breeze 'Pack the Bus' Donation Drive

The annual Wellington Breeze 'Pack the Bus' Donation Drive is on again this month.

From next Monday (14 November) there will be a collection point in the office foyer for you to drop off some essential goodies to help out those that need extra support around Christmas.

What to drop off? There is a comprehensive list here of those things needed.

The bus will be along on Monday 28 November to make the collection, so please don't leave it too long to drop off a little something that will go a long way to help out some of our Wellington families. Ka pai Amesbury whānau.

Noel Lemming - friends & family

We are halfway through our friends and family event! You have one week left to grab amazing deals storewide on the brands you love and help support KidsCan. Remember 2.5% of the total sales from this event are being donated to KidsCan so with your help, we hope to make a difference by providing the essentials Kiwi kids need to learn.

This offer is open to you, your staff, and wider Kura Whanau (including Parents, Students, and your community of friends & family). It gives them the opportunity to unlock amazing deals during this two-week period, which started on Monday October 31st and runs through until Sunday November 13th, 2022.
